Stored carefully in a dark environment for approximately 15 years since acquisition. ■ Description A rare and exceptional one-of-a-kind accessory piece from the Artisanal Line 0 of Martin Margiela's own tenure — among the most collectible objects ever produced by the Maison. The circled "0" on the white numbered label (023) identifies this as an Artisanal piece, handcrafted individually by the Margiela atelier team in Paris. No two Artisanal pieces are ever identical. The line's founding concept was the deconstruction and reconstruction of vintage garments and everyday objects into entirely new creations — elevating the act of remaking into a philosophical and artistic statement. This bracelet is constructed from several vintage zippers in navy, dark brown, and charcoal, with both gold-tone and silver-tone zipper pulls, hand-stitched together into a wearable band. When wrapped around the wrist, the contrasting textures and metallic hardware create a striking, tactile effect — a wearable sculpture in the truest sense. A direct sister piece to the zipper vest listed simultaneously from the same AW2005 season, this bracelet shares the same concept, the same materials, and the same one-of-a-kind construction method. While the vest represents the most visible and widely documented form of the series, the bracelet is in many respects even rarer — fewer examples were produced, fewer have been documented, and secondary market appearances are exceptionally scarce. The 20052006 zipper series is regarded as one of the most important bodies of work in Margiela's entire legacy, with examples held in the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. As the vest and other wearable pieces from this series have been acquired by collectors and archive stores worldwide, accessory pieces such as this bracelet have become correspondingly harder to find. The zipper vest from the same season is listed simultaneously — its realized price will serve as a reference point for understanding the rarity and value of this bracelet. Acquired as deadstock approximately 15 years ago and stored unworn ever since — condition 9.5/10. For the serious collector.
