…………………… (English Description) Antique McDowell Garment Drafting Machine made of brass, dating from the late Victorian to Edwardian era (late 19th to early 20th century).
This adjustable drafting system was used by American tailors and dressmakers to create garment patterns based on individual body measurements.
The brass components are stamped with patent dates from 1879 to 1886, highlighting its more than 100 years of history.
Features Includes the rare Sleeve Drafting Machine, which was originally sold separately. Sets including this machine are uncommon. Photocopied instruction manuals are included for reference. They are now difficult to obtain, making them valuable reference materials for collectors and researchers. Please note that the copies reflect the condition of the original source materials, including any tears, missing areas, stains, or other imperfections.
Beautiful natural brass patina developed over time.
Condition Shows normal signs of age, including tarnish, surface wear, minor scratches, and slight bends consistent with its age.
