First of all let me express our hearty congratulations to the people of the United States of America on its Bicentennial Anniversary in July of next year. As one of the events in commemoration of it, we have initiated a display of Japanese Bonsai trees in the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C. I would like to thank you for your attendance at this Bonsai Pre- sentation Ceremony today and for sharing this pleasure with us. It is a great honor for our Association, and we appreciate your kind cooperation greatly. I would also like to thank you for listening to our Vice President Mr. Takahashi's report on this program. These Bonsai trees, rep- resentative of one of the traditional arts of Japan, will now be sent across the seas to a new and friendly home. I believe that they will help people both in the United States and abroad to understand the hearts of the Japanese as well as their profound love for nature and peace. It is my hope that these Bonsai trees will pave a new road toward the exchange of friendship and culture between Japan and the United States, and it is with our deepest good wishes that we send them off. Thank you very much.
