“Kyo-Nin (Screaming Ninja)” by Shinobi Kenkyujo is a clone of the Ibanez TS10 Tube Screamer/MSL Metal Screamer.
These 2 overdrive pedals share the similar schematics : the input/output buffer designs are bit different, but the main difference lies in the cap values (0.047uF for TS10 and 0.082uF for MSL) in the clipping stage. While MSL gives you a bit more bottom end, TS10, as many would already know, has the mid-focused distortion sound. The toggle switch on the side lets you choose between the 2 effects. This particular model removes the aforementioned buffers and is thus true bypass.
The 2 transistors and 1 IC are socketed, so you can try other equivalent semiconductors as you’d like. For example you can swap the “regular” 4558 in this pedal with the famous/infamous “glossy” one to compare differences.
